Homemade Pizza

This pizza was super easy and super fun to make. This is a recipe I love and it's very fun to personalize and to kind of make it your own. The options for toppings and types of pizza you can have are virtually endless (and delicious). I even went home and made this recipe again! :)




Dough Ingredients:
¾ cup bread flour
¼ teaspoon yeast
½ Tablespoon oil (½T= 1 tsp + ½ tsp)
1/3 cup water (105-120 F)
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
Dough Instructions:
Proof the yeast in warm water with sugar for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
In a bowl combine flour and salt. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Slowly add yeast mixture and oil. Mix until combined.
Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead for 7-8 minutes.
Place in labeled lightly oil coated container. Let rise for at least one hour.
Topping Ingredients:
Approximately 3 Tbsp. pizza sauce
Approximately 3 oz. (½ cup) cheese
Your choice of additional toppings
(pepperoni 1 oz.)
Topping Instructions:
Place pizza pan in oven and Preheat the oven to 500F.
Shape dough into a smooth ball then place on floured work surface and flatten into a round disk. Pick up the dough and use your hands to squeeze the dough between your fingers and palm, working around the edge of the disk. Stretching the dough as you flatten. If dough continues to shrink back to original size, lay down on lightly floured surface and allow to rest for a few minutes. The gluten in the dough is fighting back and needs to rest to be able to stretch properly.
Place on floured work surface. With your fingertips, finish shaping dough into a 12” round or two smaller rounds for individual pizzas.
Remove hot pan from oven and place on wire cooling rack. Carefully arrange dough on top. Spoon the sauce onto the dough round and spread it to within 1 inch of the edge with the back of the spoon.
Sprinkle the cheeses evenly over the sauce covered dough.. Add additional toppings.
Bake on the lowest rack of the oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown about 10 minutes for soft crust-12 minutes for a crisper crust. Remove to cool. Complete cleaning duties before eating.
