Happy Mardi Gras everyone!! For some background on this post I'd like to speak a bit about the French culture in relation to Mardi Gras.
France is a culture that highly celebrates Fat Tuesday because of its cultural origins is catholicism. In leading up to Lent in Europe, Mardi-Gras is an opportunity taken by many to enjoy outdoor feasts, masquerade processions, masked balls, parades, pageants, jugglers, magicians and stilt walkers. This is what the French know as “le Carnaval”.
To celebrate this at school, my French class participated in a "crépe party". As you can see mine is all decked out in France's colors. :)

We made crépes in advanced foods just for fun and they turned out great! I put nutella, fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and bananas inside of mine and whipped cream as well as some more fruit on top. Despite the mix of many flavors and textures it tasted really good. My crépe was just slighlty browned in some spots, perfect for any filling. Although I prefer mine in a sweeter manner, crépes can be eaten for any meal and can be a savory snack as well.
